Intro to Songwriting
CLOSED Grades 3-6
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm
Teacher: Harrison Lurie
Mode wants to hear your songs! In this weekly workshop, we will encourage students to explore self-expression through music and help them develop the intro skills needed to write lyrics, melody, and chord progressions.
Working both solo and as a group, our instructor will create workshop goals for each student, while building a lasting skill and helping them gain the confidence to go home and write their own. Popular songs will be taught as examples. They will then be used to create original songs to share with the whole family.
Each student is encouraged to bring their own songwriting instrument to class if they like. Students will have the opportunity to perform their original songs for friends and family on the final day of class.
